The Outbreak - An Online Companion

On this section of the For Those In Peril companion website, you will find information to accompany the second book in the series, titled The Outbreak. A similar companion section for the first book in the series (For Those In Peril In The Sea), can be found here. This website information is divided into three sections. These are:

1. Information About The Outbreak: This section includes a preview of the first three chapters (including a PDF version that you can download and read offline), a summary of reviews the book has received and links to where you can purchase it. In addition, there is a Q&A with the author conducted just prior to the its publication.

2. Additional Information About The World Of The Outbreak: This section is provided for those who have already read the book and who wish to find out more about the world in which it is set.  If you're planning on reading the book, you should do this before you read anything this section as it may provide details that ruin your enjoyment of it. If you haven't decided if you want to read it yet, the prologue and the first two chapters can be found here.

The information provided in this section includes Additional Background Information About The Main Characters from the original outlines written by the author and an Interactive Maps which provide you with more information about exactly where the events in the book take place.

If you are interested in further information about this world, and you haven't done so already, on the main section of the website, you can find a comparison of Infected, Zombies And Triffids in film and fiction, information about The Science Behind The Infected, as well as a section called Sailing Away From The Apocalypse, which is a tongue-in-cheek consideration of whether you should try using a sailboat to escape the apocalypse if it were to happen to you.

3. Information From The Author: In this section, there is more information on the author of The Outbreak.  This includes a section About Colin M. Drysdale, a Q&A with the author conducted just prior to the publication of the first book of the For Those In Peril series, a list of his Top Ten Favourite Post-Apocalyptic Stories from film, TV and literature, and a link to his Blog. There is also a section which hosts short stories written by Colin M. Drysdale. These are free for you to download. Finally, in this section, you'll also find a page called What Would You Do If ... Dilemmas Of A Zombie Apocalypse where you can vote on how you'd deal with various zombie-related situations.

If you wish to find out more about the first book in the For Those in Peril series (For Those In Peril On The Sea), this can be found on the main section of the website, and can be found here. This includes similar information to that provided above for The Outbreak.
